Every year, the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is a great opportunity for people of diverse genders, sexualities, and/or intersex variations (LGBTIQA+) to express their identities, genders, bodies, and relationships in an affirming and supportive environment – and also to have a heck of a good time!

Twenty10 incorporating GLCS NSW's annual float is a drug- and alcohol-free opportunity for young people to participate in the parade. It's also the first time many young people engage with our services.

Help us make Mardi Gras sparkle by giving us a hand us with the costs for our parade entry this year. This allows us to spend more on supporting people of diverse genders, sexualities, and/or intersex variations during the rest of the year.

Need some help deciding how much to give? Here are some ideas to get you started:

$2 - A poncho for if it rains on our parade: The weather forecast isn’t looking great, folks. A poncho will keep a participant and their costume dry while we wait for the parade to start. $2 buys one poncho.
$5 - Successories: We provide parade participants with some complementary bling. $5 helps us buy some makeup, facepaint, diamantes, and other wonderful things!
$10 - Food for the day: No one wants to be a hangry marcher. $10 provides one person with snacks, sandwiches, and beverages for the day.
$15 - T-shirt printing: Every year we print a t-shirt for our Mardi Gras parade participants to modify, wear to the parade, and take home. This gives young people of diverse genders, sexualities, and/or intersex variations an opportunity to express their individuality - not to mention a wonderful souvenir of the night. $15 buys one custom-printed t-shirt.
$20 - First aid kit: Injuries and accidents happen on the way to Mardi Gras and during the parade. Help keep us safe and healthy.
$25 - A bucket of glitter: What’s Mardi Gras without a little sparkle? We go through a lot of glitter at Mardi Gras - help us replenish our stocks! $25 buys us a kilogram - yes, a kilogram! - of glitter. Whee!
$65 - Truck hire for a day: Every year, we rent a truck to carry our banner as well as lighting and music equipment. So we have time to pick up the truck, get it Mardi Gras-ed up, and get it back, we have the truck for several days. $65 is how much it costs per day - so help us out!
$165 - Float entry: We couldn't have a float if we didn't have an entry into the parade. $165 is how much that costs.
$295 - Fair Day entry: Mardi Gras starts for us before the parade. At Fair Day, we have an opportunity to meet with our communities - that is, all of you - and showcase our many services.
$400 - Choreography: It wouldn't be Mardi Gras without a dance! We hire an amazing choreographer every year to help us create the perfect Mardi Gras entry. $400 is the flat fee we pay every year.
