Larapinta Extreme Walk - Tracey Hind, IAG
Page
This May I am embarking on what will be a truly epic walk.  Not only do I get to see an amazing part of this country, I also have the unique opportunity to raise funds for an amazing organisation.

The Larapnta trail is an iconic 223km trek through the West MacDonnell Ranges.  We will be trekking from Mount Sonder to Alice Springs through some stunning scenery and over challenging mountainous desert terrain.  In order to push the trek into the extreme category we will be completing the length of the trail in 11 days.  Have a little look at the itinerary.

I am taking part in this challenge to raise money to support the annual Law & Culture meeting of the Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Women’s Council (NPY Women’s Council).

The NPY Women’s council is one of Australia’s oldest and most respected Aboriginal organisations established to strengthen and promote the health, safety and culture as well as the economic, emotional and social wellbeing of women and families of the Ngaanyatjarra, Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara lands.

The Annual Law and Culture meetings are an opportunity for women to come together to discuss matters important to them, exchange traditional knowledge, strengthen the connection of younger women to their heritage and cultural practices and celebrate women’s law.  There is also a focus on empowering women to speak up on matters important to them, giving a voice to Anangu and Yarnangu women and their families and building stronger communities.

As a group we hope to raise $100,000 and I hope, with your help, to contribute $5,000 to our overall goal.

Thank you so much for your support.
