VACD has 350+ registered children with disabilities who are desperately in need of our assistance and services. We presently have centres in Bandarawela and Badulla, Sri Lanka that caters for a maximum 35 children each. Our aim is to open more centres in other towns to serve the children living in the vicinity.
The centres provide life skills, computer and vocational training, music and dance instruction, sports and recreation, basic schooling and nutritious meals. The parents are provided with leadership training, microfinance, cottage industry skills and home based therapy skills in an effort to uplift entire families.
The existing VACD centres are run by volunteers with four paid staff, which helps us keep administrative costs to 3 to 4% of overall expenditure.
Your generous donation will help us maintain these facilities across the present and future centres, and go a long way to giving these children and their families hope and a brighter future.
