Vanuatu Emergency Appeal
$ 50.00
The strongest – and most devastating – cyclone ever to hit Vanuatu.
Category five Cyclone Pam has caused widespread devastation, ripping trees and power lines from the ground, and flattening people's homes. "Approximately 75,000 children are at risk and urgently need help. The next few hours and days are critical for their survival," says Nichola Krey, Save the Children's Head of Humanitarian Response.  "Children are the most vulnerable in emergencies. They can easily drown in flood waters and can be exposed to sexual and physical abuse in the chaos after a disaster. Our number one priority right now is to save children's lives and keep them safe."
Vanuatu is made up of more than 80 islands and a lot of the country remains underdeveloped. It's feared dozens of people on the most remote islands have died.
