Port Phillip EcoCentre Inc

The Port Phillip EcoCentre is a not-for-profit organisation that works to protect and enhance our living environment from the 'burbs to the Bay. We use community passion and expertise as our renewable energy source.

For all of us, it’s more important than ever that we take strong environmental action.

How will your tax-deductible donation be used?

Connecting our community to their local environment
Education for 140+ schools and 87,000 community members annually to protect and restore life in Port Phillip Bay and its catchments.

Partnering with Indigenous cultural organisations to share knowledge and unique perspectives of the Bay.

Wildlife and plant walks through our local gardens, beaches, and urban forests.

Empowering sustainable environmental action
Environmental leadership training and curriculum development for youth and teachers.

Running our social inclusion community gardening program and community compost centre.

Baykeeper citizen science projects to monitor Bay health indicator species, pest seastars and beach erosion.

Transforming systems for positive environmental change
Australian-first research quantifying the amount and source of microplastic pollution in the Bay through citizen science.

Coastal protection in a changing climate through measuring the impact of ‘living
breakwaters’ to reduce coastal erosion and create habitat for species.

Advocacy for sustainable cities that mitigate and adapt to climate change, reduce waste, curtail consumption, and have equitable access to clean air and water, viable soil, and renewable energy.
