Financial Grant - Heat Management
$ 1900.00
Heat intolerance is a major problem affecting people living with multiple sclerosis (MS). As little as half a degree increase in core body temperature can significantly increase MS symptoms such as extreme fatigue, blurred vision, muscle weakness, pain, tremors and a decrease in cognitive function. The added strain of the increase of such symptoms also reduces the capacity of people with MS to participate in social, household and work activities, significantly impacting on quality of life.

During the warmer months, the use of air conditioning and effective home insulation assists in keeping MS symptoms at bay - helping someone living with MS participate in day-to-day activities.
