Mercy Health Foundation exists to support Mercy Health in its Mission and commitment to ‘Care first’.

Mercy Health Foundation supports Mercy Health in its efforts to advance care and improve life outcomes for people in need. Established in 2005, Mercy Health Foundation works closely with our many and varied donors including large philanthropic and family donors, corporate partners, event participants, community fundraisers and Mercy Health staff.

Since being established, the Foundation has distributed over $10 million to a range of essential projects. Some of the many initiatives we support include the Sheila Handbury Chair of Maternal Fetal Medicine, the Mercy Health Breastmilk Bank, providing equipment for areas including our Special Care Nurseries, the establishment of sensory gardens at our residential aged care homes and innovative aged care research projects.

Mercy Health Foundation's priorities for support:

Women’s and Children’s Health
A healthy start to life and keeping mothers safe has been a focus of Mercy Health since the Sisters of Mercy first started walking the streets of Dublin in the early 1800s. Supporting this priority will promote safer motherhood and the best possible start to life.

Aged Care
Empowering residents to live the life they choose as they age is the core of aged care at Mercy Health as we cater to physical, social, emotional needs and spiritual wellbeing. Supporting this priority will create a sense of belonging and enhance quality of life while ageing.

Palliative Care
Valuing human dignity and accompanying someone through the last stages of their life with dignity, love and compassion are central to our values. Support in this area will provide critical support to people nearing end of life.
