Help Optus buy a TAP-it for Mater
$ 0
Mater’s Centre for Neurosciences is in need of a new piece of specialised equipment: a TAP-it learning station. The TAP-it is used to help rehabilitate patients following a stroke, complex brain surgery and other neurological conditions.

When a patient is recovering from a stroke or neurological attack, they often lose their fine motor skills and experience a range of visual problems, perceptual problems and cognitive difficulties. These types of complications require extensive rehabilitation. The TAP-it learning station has been designed for use in these situations.

The device can be used by patients who are in wheelchairs or using walkers or other mobility devices to move around. The technology delivers multiple modes of learning exercises, including tactile, visual and auditory learning for the patients.

Having the TAP-it at Mater’s Centre for Neurosciences will provide the very best in rehabilitation therapy for the more than 2900 Queenslanders who visit Mater each year for treatment of neurological conditions including stroke, epilepsy and neurology surgery.
