Education for leadership is necessary to ensure women’s effective participation in decision-making because this is one of the most powerful ways of improving the status and well-being of women.
$15 provides classroom stationary supplies such as notebooks, pens, newsprint, markers… for one month for 30 students of the Karen Young Women’s Leadership School.
In the Asia-Pacific region, women are significantly under-represented at the community and national level. Women’s full participation in decision-making processes across all areas of life – social, cultural, civil, political and economic – is critical.
With the Karen Women’s Organisation (KWO), on the Thai-Burma border, we work to strengthen the knowledge of young women participants on community development; democracy and human rights; leadership skills and advocacy.
