The humanitarian crisis in the North African country of Chad persists, meaning the donkeys are deprived of urgently needed emergency food and veterinary support such as vaccinations for the animals against diseases. The situation is particularly dire in Kouroukan camp where we are helping 5,000 increasingly emaciated donkeys, through our trusted colleagues, SPANA (Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad).
On request by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refuges, with our support, SPANA is developing a strategic plan to protect and support all livestock in the region and will work with charity partners to alleviate the situation. Help a donkey today.
