Foodbank South Australia
Foodbank is the largest food relief organisation in South Australia. We are a non-profit, non-denominational organisation that works with the food and grocery industry to give new life to surplus and donated product and make it available to welfare agencies and South Australians doing it tough. We offer a variety of foods either free of charge or at very low cost to more than 580 welfare and community support agencies, and over 500 schools across Adelaide’s metro, regional and country areas. We have warehouses in Edwardstown, Berri and Whyalla and Food Hubs in Bowden, Edwardstown, Elizabeth, Mount Gambier and Christies Beach.
Currently, Foodbank operations across Australia provide 70% of all the food required for food relief in the country.
Right now, more than 126,000 South Australians are seeking food assistance every month, and over a third of these are children, so it is vital that we are able to meet this need.
At Foodbank, a $2 donation will feed a family of four - so every little bit helps!
