Family Life
Family life has operated in the South Eastern region of Melbourne since 1970. Family Life provides assistance and support to disadvantaged and vulnerable families, children and young people.

The focus is on helping parents and carers to improve their well-being and ability to care for their children.

Family Life's major focus is on helping to solve and address serious social issues such as family violence, child abuse, poverty, mental illness, unemployment and social isolation.

The organisation is community owned and managed and has 120 staff and 380 volunteers.

Family Life offers counselling, mediation, mental health services, support and community educational services, outreach to homes, case coordination and advocacy.

The mental health services include counselling, personal support and education services for all the family, with a focus on children aged 0 – 18.

Family Life has a proven suite of Creating Capable Communities programs which demonstrate, through evidence collected since 2000, the empowerment of parents and residents to lead change and to meet the needs of children and families within the local community. (see the attached video)
