Epilepsy Foundation
Epilepsy is the most common serious brain disorder in the world today. The Epilepsy Foundation is the premier consumer support agency for all people living with epilepsy.

We estimate 10% of Australians will have a seizure during their lifetime. Between 3 to 5% will develop epilepsy - that is around 140,000 people. Of these 12.5% will be children under the age of 14 – many of them will be under the age of five. Nearly 800 children will be newly diagnosed each year.

The Foundation provides a range of support services for families, friends and the community. This includes counselling, research, special education sessions along with a wide range of resources for people living with epilepsy (including videos, information sheets and epilepsy management plans). The Foundation’s website contains a great deal of information and the largest epilepsy specific library in the southern hemisphere.
