Edmund Rice Camps
Edmund Rice Camps Inc is a Melbourne based charity. Primarily we run over 10 (three to five day) residential camps each year. Our camps are for children, young people and their families who are doing it tough.
Unique to ERC is that camps are staffed entirely by trained young (or young at heart) volunteers. These dedicated and inspirational people take the roles of buddies to our campers, manage the logistics of camp and the pastoral care of other volunteers.
A key element of camps is the 1:1 ratio of volunteers to campers. This creates the opportunity for strong relationships to be founded, positive behaviour to be modelled and each child to experience focused positive attention.
Every year we make a positive difference in the lives of our campers and our volunteers. We are a volunteer organisation, governed by a Board of Management.
