Help us with a huge number of young kittens, they need food, medications and health checks before finding new families. There is a massive load of young kittens every year, all year round, and the peak of the tsunami is summer.
CatRescue 901 is a small rescue group dependent on volunteers who are dedicated to rescuing, fostering and rehoming cat & kittens who were once abandoned.
Every year "kitten season" hits us very hard, for several months. So many babies are born as the weather gets warmer and it started very early this year due to the mild winter we have in Sydney.
Mum cats are having babies everywhere and we all do our best to help as many as we possibly can - your contribution helps us to care for lots and lots of kittens through the fragile and challenging time of their lives.
The three little ones in the photo have issues with their eyes. Their eye health is deterioriating so they will need a check up for management recommendations. We need to keep their eyes as healthy as possible until they are old enough to have eyelids constructed. One thing is for sure. By the time our carer Nat has had them for months, they will be the most affectionate babies around.
Our carers also bottle feed little babies from when they are just days old. We will be looking after tiny tots for at least 3 months if we can get them through this very fragile time of their lives.
For tiny kittens, initially we must provide formula and a vet check, then flea and worm treatment. After they are four weeks old, they will start to eat kitten food - then they generally will eat and eat and eat. It is vital to give them premium food so they can grow big and strong, and good quality foods comes at a cost.
We can only save these tiny babies thanks to the devotion of our carers who are prepared to have very little sleep; the first few weeks the tiny baby kittens are fed every 2 hours around the clock, and then when they are stronger and have put on weight, every 3 hours around the clock until they start eating on their own.
Please help us support the many kittens abandoned, with many health issues, the tiny ones needing bottle feeding etc., all before searching for their forever families.
