With our funds to date (2/12/2019) we have been able to desex approxmately 120 cats - both strays and owned cats and we are thrilled that 120 cats will not be having babies. However there are literally thousands of stray cats in Sydney now and we can keep offering desexing as new funds come in.

As the warmer weather has started so many cats will be getting pregnant. What a gift to save a desperate street cat from having litter after litter after litter. 

This year there have been so many stray, young friendly mums having babies on the streets. The most effective way of helping is to desex as many female cats as possible. Your donation towards desexing is the most powerful step in reducing the flood of unwanted and abandoned kittens.

This season across Sydney, it's like we've been hit with a tsunami. It is exponentially worse then previous years.  We have taken in 12 mothers & babes, plus many orphans this summer, and it is not enough, we are struggling with the numbers. 

Our best strategy is to help desex as many females as we can afford and stop the cycle of breeding. 

Just one undesexed female cat can produce up to 20 kittens in a single year. They can start breeding from 16 weeks of age.

Desexing also vastly improves the quality of life of females whose bodies would otherwise been depleted by constant pregnancies and kitten rearing.

We desex all our rescued cats. Our small rescue group of volunteers are dedicated to Rescue, Foster and Rehoming.
