Day to day living
$ 5.00
We know that young people with mental health issues are often isolated, sometimes struggle to make connections with their peers and the wider community, and benefit from some help to develop their skills of daily living. BYS has provided small group and activity based psychosocial support for many years and we would like to continue this valuable work. Our Day to Day Living program has a positive impact on the community by providing support and purposeful engagement with young people at risk.

Activities under the program are varied and can include fitness, arts and crafts, music lessons and recreational outings such as bowling. The activities focus on strengthening the capacity of the young people to actively participate in the shaping of their community, assisting them in becoming more inclusive through fostering a new and unique sense of belonging. They do so by applying the ‘5 Ways to Wellbeing’:
  1. Connecting with others
  2. Being physically active doing something you enjoy
  3. Learning new things or skills
  4. Taking notice of the world around you
  5. Giving back to the community
