Beacon Foundation
Beacon's focus is providing disadvantaged students with opportunities that will motivate and inspire them to choose a positive career pathway when they leave school.
Beacon provides guidance, knowledge and tools for each school to utilise so to embed the program within their culture so that it's part of the furniture. We guide and assist teachers in building relationships with their local business community and demonstrate how these businesses can be engaged long term within the school through the Beacon program.
Some of the Beacon programs that these businesses can be engaged through include participating in mock interviews, presenting a career snapshot & supporting students in the charter signing ceremony where they make a pledge to a positive career pathway.
Through these businesses being engaged with the school we would hope for real life opportunities to evolve for students such as real jobs, work experience and tours of various companies.
