Nearly 90% of people seeking asylum live below the poverty line and, with limited or no rights to work, often cannot afford housing. The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre provides housing support to families in need to avoid these families facing homelessness. Last year, we provided 55,813 nights of shelter to people seeking asylum in our community.
