Allergy and Immunology Foundation of Australasia

Allergy and Immunology Foundation of Australasia

Allergy and other immune diseases affect the lives of one in four people in Australia and New Zealand.

The Allergy and Immunology Foundation of Australasia (AIFA) is dedicated to funding medical research to find out why, to develop ways of treating and preventing these diseases, and to find cures.

AIFA is the only organisation funding all types of allergy and immune disease research and not directly linked to any single medical institute in Australia and New Zealand. While several areas of allergy and other immune diseases have a high profile (i.e food allergy, Multiple Sclerosis, Type 1 Diabetes), others have little or no profile and limited funding (i.e drug allergy, Primary Immunodeficiency, Lupus). AIFA funds medical research into all of these issues with projects selected purely on their merit.
