Women’s safety and security is at the heart of supporting women to realise their rights and live free from violence.

$25 provides a safe venue and materials for 20 Shan refugee women living on the Thai-Burma border who are facing violence to come together to share ideas and learn about their rights.

Violence against women perpetuates and deepens poverty, limiting women’s ability to contribute socially and economically.

Along the Thai-Burma border, we support a project conducted by Shan Women’s Action Network (SWAN) to increase women’s capacity to develop strategies to address violence, to educate communities on women’s rights and to directly assist women and girls facing violence.

With Banteay Srei, we develop services for Cambodian women who suffer from violence, such as emergency support, shelter, psychological and legal counselling.
