At The Heart Research Institute we are devising new ways to prevent death and suffering from the World’s No 1 Killer, heart disease.
We are now researching new ways to reduce the risk of heart disease in those who already have this killer disease. We have a large program researching HDL (or ‘good cholesterol’) and how its presence in blood levels can be regulated, and another program investigating ways to prevent inflammation in the arteries.
Both will assist those suffering Metabolic Syndrome… now a worldwide epidemic – that occurs with great frequency in people who are overweight. One of our major research goals now is to PREVENT this condition occurring in the first place.
