SecondBite
Australia’s most marginalised communities have limited access to fresh and nutritious food. SecondBite, a dynamic not-for-profit organisation, is committed to making a positive difference to people who are homeless or living in disadvantaged circumstances by sourcing good quality fresh food that would otherwise go to waste. Over 112 Victorian and Tasmanian relief agencies and initiatives regularly receive fresh food from SecondBite. Each month we collect and redistribute approximately 60 tonnes of produce which is enough to provide 1,200,000 hearty meals each year. This food redistribution reduces landfill and saves Australia over 600 tonnes in yearly CO2 emissions.
