The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is truly unique within Australia’s public health system, being the only hospital solely dedicated to cancer. It also houses the largest cancer research programs and laboratories in the country. This has given rise to many significant achievements, and earned Peter Mac an international reputation for excellence and innovation in cancer research, treatment and patient care.
Cancer touches all of us either directly or indirectly during our lives. Today, more than half of those diagnosed with cancer will have a successful response to treatment. This significant progress is due to the dedication of clinicians, nurses, scientists, volunteers and benefactors, who are all creating a better future for people touched by cancer.
