Sufferers of Machado Joseph Disease become severley disabled within 5-10 years of first symptoms, and due to their sleep issues, both they and their primary carers (usually a family member) are tired, and lack the ability to enjoy the usual activities such as a trip across Groote Eylandt, or a day out fishing.
