Lifeline
Lifeline is a national federation operating from 60 locations within Australia. Lifeline provides 24 hour phone counselling, suicide prevention education and awareness programs and self help information.
Lifeline's focus is on connecting people with care wherever they may be located within Australia, and at any time they may need to call. We believe that every person has the right to be heard and understood with compassion and to receive competent care in their time of need. On average, Lifeline answers more than 500,000 calls annually, with our workforce of over 11,000 volunteers.
Lifeline also offers many additional services to communities depending on what local needs may be. Additional services offered in many of our 60 locations include:
- mental health support services
- suicide prevention and bereavement services
- face to face counselling
- financial counselling
- disaster counselling and relief services
- family and mediationservices
