Lasallian Foundation
The Lasallian Foundation supports education, development and emergency relief projects in the Asia-Pacific region providing poor and disadvantaged children and their communities an opportunity to break the poverty cycle.
The Foundation was established in 2004 by the De La Salle Brothers of Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. The majority of projects funded are operated by local De La Salle Brothers & lay partners in the target countries. All projects are non-denominational and are staffed by people from all faith backgrounds.
Typical projects include:
- primary and secondary school education
- vocational training, tuition centres and youth development programs;
- residential care for orphaned, abandoned, or HIV affected children;
- working children’s programs;
- day care centres;
- empowerment and human rights programs for women, children, the poor and the disabled;
- emergency relief and long term reconstruction;
- micro-credit schemes for self-help groups.
