Three workshops on savings and microfinance for a woman living in a rural area in the Solomon Islands. - $45.00
Economic empowerment is vital to giving women greater independence and choice, and more control where money is spent in their communities.
$45 allows a woman living in a rural area in the Solomon Islands to attend three workshops on savings and microfinance. While attending these trainings, she will be able to apply for small business/livelihoods loans from a revolving community fund.
Barriers to accessing education and discrimination translate into lower skills and knowledge levels and poorer returns on women’s labour. Much of the work women do is not valued and is unaccounted for national accounts.
In Cambodia, our project with Banteay Srei builds the capacity of women by developing small business management skills, including understanding local market demands.
In the Solomon Islands, with our partner West Are Are Rokotanikeni Association (WARA) we aim to give women access to micro-finance funds.
