One young Australian woman to attend a two night camp exploring concepts of gender and development. - $150

Education for leadership ensures women’s effective participation in decision-making because this is one of the most powerful ways of improving the status and well-being of women.

$150 allows one young Australian woman to attend a two night camp exploring concepts of gender and development, and understanding what they can do to address injustice.

In the Asia-Pacific region, women are significantly under-represented at the community and national level. Women’s full participation in decision-making processes across all areas of life – social, cultural, civil, political and economic – is critical.

With the Karen Women’s Organisation (KWO), on the Thai-Burma border, we work to strengthen the knowledge of young women participants on community development; democracy and human rights; leadership skills and advocacy.

In Australia, through the Global Youth Impact project, we introduce young women to issues that affect women globally and to increase their awareness of gender inequality.
