Country Education Foundation Australia

CEFA is a national not-for-profit organisation which works to ensure that as many young people as possible from rural Australia have the opportunity to pursue their chosen area of education, training or vocation by providing much needed financial assistance and support.

We do this by establishing local Education Foundations in regional Australia which raise funds to provide grants to local students in support of their post high school educational aspirations. We currently have 40 Education Foundations across NSW, QLD, NT and SA and we are continually working to increase our footprint across rural Australia.

Grants for rural students are not awarded on the basis of academic success. The local Education Foundations support a diverse range of pursuits including apprenticeships, traineeships, cadetships, degrees, diplomas and certificate-level studies and entry careers.

Since CEFA’s formation in 1993, 1,709 grants and $2,894,896 of support have been provided to rural youth.
