Cancer Council Australia
Cancer Council Australia is the nation’s peak non-government cancer control organisation. Our 8 members – the State & Territory Cancer Councils - share our vision to minimise the threat of cancer to Australians through successful education & prevention, best treatment and supportive care. More than 60% of cancer patients will survive more than five years after diagnosis, a 30% improvement since 1986.
1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85 with 1 in 3 cancers being preventable so the work of Cancer Council is particularly relevant to all Australians. Cancer Council granted more than $47m to cancer research in 2009
