Campaign Credits - Water and Rivers - $50

Water is a scarce resource in Australia and our rivers are our lifeblood. The demands of our cities, agriculture and industry have traditionally taken precedence over the needs of the natural environment. Rivers have been diverted, dammed and used for waste disposal.

Changing weather patterns and greater demand is increasing the pressure. ACF is campaigning to return our degraded rivers to health by promoting the return of water to the environment, establishing appropriate water pricing regimes, leaving our wild rivers in their natural state, preventing dams and weirs on rivers of high natural and cultural value, and encouraging better agricultural practices.

In our cities, you can help ACF encourage governments to invest more in water use efficiency and water recycling. You will also be supporting ACF’s community education programs helping households make a difference through a combination of water recycling, rainwater tanks and using water wisely..
