Arrow Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation
A bone marrow transplant offers the best prospect for recovery in many cases, and for twenty years the Arrow Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation (Arrow) has assisted both cancer and non-cancer patients undergoing this life saving procedure.
Arrow has also been a long time supporter of the Australasian Bone Marrow Transplant Recipient Registry who released the Annual Data Summary (2005) showing that 1160 bone marrow transplants have been conducted in Australia – and the number is growing.
Arrow aims to find a cure for leukaemia and related diseases through medical research funding which has so far led to greater transplant success rates. Our current Research Grants Program provides funding for a Senior Research Scientist and Arrow is currently providing a scholarship for a PhD student, whose research project is based on bone marrow and adult stem cell transplantation.
