Act for Peace provides conservation farming support and training, including farming tools such as rain gauges, in Zimbabwe and Ethiopia.
Ongoing drought in Zimbabwe and Ethiopia and conventional farming methods have depleted the soil of nutrients, forcing farmers to seek new farmland. This is often at the expense of the remaining forests, which in turn causes declining water sources, soil erosion and more droughts. Act for Peace helps teach conservation farming techniques to break that cycle – and it can double a farmer’s yield.
