AIDS Trust of Australia
The AIDS Trust of Australia is the national body raising and dispersing funds for HIV/AIDS research, education, care and support provided by community based organisations. Our mission is to enhance Australia's response to HIV/AIDS. We achieve this through raising funds and disbursing them to community based organisations that provide education, care, support and research in a way that fulfils the trust placed in us by donors, supports and those living with HIV/AIDS. The Trust was established in 1987 by the then Governor-General and continues to enjoy Vice Regal patronage. The AIDS Trust works with state based AIDS Councils and the Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations (AFAO) to raise funds to disperse to organisations which provide direct assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS.
