The Heart Research Institute is committed to the battle against the World’s No1 Killer – Heart Disease.
The human cost of heart disease is the highest of any known disease. More than 50,000 people die from heart attack or stroke in Australia each year. This is more than deaths caused by cancer, AIDS and road accidents combined. Additionally, about 400,000 people are hospitalised each year with this condition. More worrying is the fact that about 40% of today's children under the age of 15 years are showing early signs of heart disease.
The Heart Research Institute is a registered Non-Profit Charity and relies heavily on donations to speed up the research into prevention, early diagnosis and reversal of heart disease.
Research is vital as 1 in every 6 Australians currently have heart disease. With your support, you can be confident in the knowledge that in so doing you are making a wonderful contribution to The Heart Research Institute, and to humanity at large.
